Topic: Posting a picture attachment

I would like to post a picture but what is the best way? When I go to where I have the picture stored and open it for the attachment, it puts the picture location in the box okay but then if you hit the Browse button you can view all of the pictures I have in that folder. I don't really want that. I could put the photo on my desktop but then wondering if you can access other areas on my desktop. Not too computer savvy. Can someone enlighten me?

How you select photos, etc, depends on how you have your files organized. First, be sure any photos and attachments are in compressed form (JPEG). This will allow them to be small enough to be easily transmitted. It is a good idea to have a separate file for each category such as "old cars", etc. When you use the "browse" button, it will display files. You then "open" the file, and choose the individual photo and "open" it. It will appear in the box called "image attachment" and be sent when you use the "submit reply" button. If you wish send multiple photos, it is best to first make up a full page of them, and send as a single attachment to save time and space.

I use PICASA 3 it is FREE, and EASY to use,you just have to down load it,and put a name on folder ,
when you take your pictures, set the camera for E-MAIL mode, this will scale the pictures down for you, and will upload easier, and faster,
not the best mode but good for what we are doing,
hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN

I have found the "best" way is to use a photo hosting service such as www.photobucket.com . There are others as well. You just post the web link to the picture in your post like this:

http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z73/lightflyer1/1935%20Ford/?action=view¤t=35bluefordfrnt.jpg

More than one pic can be inserted this way, as this site only allows one per post.

When you use the image attachment feature, no one else can see the rest of the pictures on your computer. The photo on your computer is uploaded onto the Forum's site and store there. When someone clicks on the photo link in your post, the photo opens in a new window.
