Topic: 1936 front axle interchanges

In my earlier post I mentioned that Dad had an accident in his Tudor Sedan in 1969. I believe the car was spared major body damage because the front left wheel took most of the impact. The downside is that the axle is bent. Not severely, but enough to cause that tire to wear unevenly. I want to correct this before I do any further reassembly of the car

We have a spare axle beam that is supposed to be from a 36. I only believe it is the correct part because the person we bought it from said so.

What year front suspension and brake parts cross over? I think I remember that 36-39 all have the wide five wheels, with 39 being one year only hydraulic brakes with that bolt pattern.

You can have a bent axle straightened by a front end shop. There is not a lot of adjustment on a solid I-beam axle, therefore the axle would have to be re-bent, which is not a big deal to someone that knows what they are doing,
I would not be to quick to replace the axle with a unit that has doubtful parentage.
