Does anyone have information on what these numbers indicate on the heads? I also discovered that the heads on my 1936 Ford flathead are stamped March 18, 1947. Obviously the Engine had some work done on a long time ago

Date stamped heads both show 3-18-47. Sorry, the next two posts are duplicates of this one. How do you delete a post This message was edited by Lobo on 3-8-18 @ 3:02 PM

To be technically correct, the numbers are not stamped in, but rather cast in.

To be clear, these were replacement heads supplied by Ford for service. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Hi....Maybe the engine is part of the factory rebuild program mentioned in the Early Ford V8 magazine a few months ago. BT

The suffix after the part number indicates either an aluminum or cast iron head (-A or -B). Many of the aluminum heads have a number inside a circle, this indicates the manufacturer of the head. HT indicates the aluminum has been Heat Treated.

Buckawho, That's possible but of course, it's also possible that the heads were replaced at some point simply because the factory aluminum heads were too corroded to keep in usage. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
