Topic: Hood hinge removal

Are all the bolts that attach the hinge assemblies to the 41 Ford Hood to the body have loose nuts or are some nuts welded to the body. I need to remove the hood but it would appear some of the bolts just spin. One bolt has a loose nut that I can see through a hole in the side of the brace but the rest appear to go into solid pieces that I can't get behind.

Thanks in advance of the help.

There should be two bolts that attach the hinge thru the "pinch welds" on the cowl. There is another, towards the rear, that will need to be accessed above the interior kick panel. It's a tight fit but you can get a wrench on the nut and have someone outside the car turning the bolt. The May/June 2009 issue of the V-8 Times has a detailed article on how to adjust the hood.
