Topic: Repair (conversion) of 36 Mirror Clock

Henryat1140    -- 05-01-2010 @ 11:06 AM
I was told there is a member here who works on mirror clocks.

I'd like to replace the wind-up movement in my 36 mirror clock with a modern battery-driven movement. If possible it would be neat if the orginal face and hands could be used.

For those who are clock-fixers, I don't believe this is too major a task.

I have used some of the instrument/clock repair shops, but their turnaround time (and in some cases their pricing) means I'd rather work with someone who does this as a hobby or sideline.

Please email, or if phone contact is preferable for you 410-343-1117 up till 11:00PM EST.

Thanks

Henry

If the clock is in decent shape, any good watchmaker can clean and lube the movement for you, usually the escapement- pendullum wheel gets hung up from lack of oil and lack of use,
and you will have it back to original service for many years to come, why convert It to batteries, you will be forever changing batteries, and not original anymore ?
my 3 cents worth,,37RAGTOPMAN
there should be a proffesional clock repair person in you area, just go to any antique shop dealer and ask where they get theirs done,
they have them repaired everyday,
