Can anyone tell me how far from the rear bumper, both length and height, that the tailpipe should pass and should the pipe be cut off square, angled, partially square and angled, etc? My car is a 48 convertible.

On my '47 convertible I extended the tail pipe so the end would be even with the surface of the bumper. I installed "pencil" tips on the pipes (I have dual exhaust).

On my 47 Convertible the exhaust pipe extends out even with the lower edge of the bumper at a slight to the outside angle. The pipe is approximately 1 1/4 inch below the bumper and approximately 1 3/4 inch from the bumper guard ( see photos).
