1936 Ford Phaeton. I am going to replace the drivers door hinge pins and I’m wondering if there’s any certain way to remove the old ones other than pounding of them out from the bottom

Removing the pins is always a tough job. Usually they are rusted in place from exposure to the elements. Also, as the pins wear they form ridges that catch in the hinge. After supporting the latch end on the door to relieve pressure on the pins, you may be able to loosen them as you drive them up. I use an air chisel with fine pointed tool. It is a very good idea to protect the area around the hinge to protect the paint. There are C clamp tools sold for the job, but they seldom work as advertised. Drilling them out usually damages the hinges so oversize pins must be made.
