Topic: 36 window install

I have a 36 tudor and I need to know of any secrets to installing the front passenger door glass. The 36 has a very small access hole , so I'm not sure of the order. I have the new glass and the regulator out. Any help would be welcome.

I installed front door glass in my 1936 Ford Tudor several years ago and wrote a procedure for this install. If you live in the Minneapolis area I will come and help with the install. If not, we could talk on the phone and help you with the install. Let me know. Stanley

here's an old post from trjford8

Just took the windows out of my 37 coupe. Remove the garnish moulding and then remove the door panel.Roll the window up in the closed position. Remove all the screws that hold the regulator in the door. Push in on the regulator shaft and bring the regulator and window down into the bottom of the door. Remove the center stud from the window channel and turn the regulator shaft so the arms of the regulator come towards the center of the channel. Slide the regulator back until the front arm drops out of the channel and then slide it forward so the rear arm drops out of the channel. Remove the regulator from the door. Now push up on the glass and get it to a point where you can rotate the glass 90 degrees. Now lower the glass to the bottom of the door, rotate it back 90 degrees and slide the glass out of the door. If you are replacing the glass make sure the channel goes back on the new glass in the same position as it was on the old glass. Reverse the process to put it back together.

here's a link that might help https://www.35pickup.com/Window.html

and a discussion from the fordbarn https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97346&showall=1

lastly, Stanley, would you want to post the procedure you wrote up??
