Does the black knob in the center of the clock face turn with the hands as the clock runs?

In 1953 Ford offered two different clocks for their cars, a mechanical stem wound clock and an electric clock. The electric clock featured a stem with black knob in the center of the clock face. The mechanical clock featured a chrome colored knob at the bottom of the clock face. The knobs do not rotate as the clocks run. You have to apply pressure on the knob to engage the mechanism within the clock.
