The '37 Fordor I bought back in October has a freshly rebuilt V8-85 The rebuilder.., or previous owner put plug wire boots on. Is there any real need for boots as long as nothing is within arcing distance?? I much prefer the bare naked "No Bootie" look!!

Go with the color coded wires with the original type connectors. They will work fine and you don't need the rubber boots unless you are going to drive under water. Tom

Use only plug wires that have a metal core instead of the carbon fiber type. We solder the wires to the terminals on both ends of each wire. The fiber type rely on a sharp prong on the terminal to penetrate the insulation an make contact. They were often sold as reducing radio noise, but ddn't help much, if any. a better choice is a set of resistor containing spark plugs.
