Does anyone know where an explanation of the various positions of the heater blower switch on my 48 might be found?

\Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this heater blower switch knob?

Thanks 4d but I don't need a $62 switch, really all I need is the light up knob and don't need a ford original looking knob. I have found what I need locally. Thanks for the reponse. ken ct.

Bill, which heater do you have, the box heater or the fresh air heater with the air chamber mounted to the hood? The switches are different.

The box heater switch has 5 positions, OFF, HI, LOW for heat coming out of the front of the heater and INDIRECT HI and LOW for defroster heat.

The fresh air heater switch only has 3 positions, OFF, HI and LO. The defroster action is controlled by a cable operated door to redirect the air flow.

Tom, I have the box heater with water connections on the firewall. Thanks for the explanation of the blower switch positions. I suppose I could very carefully paint the red markings on the knob--???

I used dark red One Shot lettering enamel. I painted the area and let it dry about 5 min and then wiped off the paint with a rag dampened with mineral spirits. This worked leaving the paint in the letters.

Caution anyone ,that switch has the chrome bezel is missing As most switches you see for sale do not have this missing piece ??? ken ct. I had a complete one on my 41 that's how I know they are usually missing. ken ct.

It also comes "UNTESTED". NOS ones show up now and then for less money. I paid $5 for one last year at a swap meet.
