Topic: Powder coat or paint?

Savvy    -- 11-29-2017 @ 12:23 PM
Howdy All, been away for a couple years, hope all is well.
Time to paint or coat the original rims of my ‘34 deluxe fordoor before replacing the 1968 era tires and tubes.
Can anyone recommend a shop within a reasonable distance from Walnut Creek, Ca (SF East Bay)?
Thanks!
Cheers!!!

Give a call to the young guys at East Bay Speed and Custom. They may know who does powder coating in the area. Call Aaron at 925-817-9814 or Brandon at 925-708-0883. I get my powder coating done in Dixon( I live in Napa). There is also a powder coater in Cordelia and I think it is called S and S Powder Coating. If you use Google I think you will find a lot of powder coaters not too far from your home. Prices will vary quite a lot depending on the item you want coated.

I travel through “Dixon Next 5 Exits” frequently to and from Tahoe. What shop do you like there?
Cheers!!

I use Valley Spring Co. which is a few doors to the rear of the Dixon /Ford dealer. Phone # 707-678-3944. Address is 340 Industrial Way in Dixon. Sometimes they a little slow, but they do a nice job. I also found two places in your area that do powder coating. There is West Coast Specialty Coating at 925-682-4828 (Concord) or E-Tech Powder Coating at 925-934-1872 (Walnut Creek)

Power coating is the only way to go. Enclosed is a picture of a wheel on my '35 after five years of use. still looks new.
