I recently purchased a 46 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe. When I started looking for parts and information, I found that there are two coupes. When I looked up the car codes on this site, the coupe is shown as 69A-77B, and the sedan coupe is shown as 69A-72B. can some one explain the difference? Also, which code should I use when looking up parts in the Ford parts book. The serial number for the car is 99A11XXXX. (The serial number is complete on the ownership.)

As I'm sure others will explain much better than I there are differences between the coupe and the sedan coupe. If the two were side by side the outward appearance is the roof ,while still shaped like the coupe, is longer on the sedan coupe. Inside the coupe has several variations on an abbreviated rear seat. The sedan coupe has a full rear seat. You should get the 41-48 Ford book which will more fully describe the two cars.

In addition to the above, they are often called "short door coupe" and "long door coupe". The coupe has shorter doors that are the length of a 4-door car door while the sedan coupe has longer doors from a 2-door car.

Some other differences I believe are the "Business Coupe" did not have a back seat, only room for storage and the "Sedan Coupe" has rear quarter windows that are push out, pivot windows to give ventilation for the back seat.
