Topic: Correct 1946 Merc clutch disc?

What is the correct size clutch disc for a 1946 Mercury coupe?

Does anyone know what the FoMoCo part number is?

Is there a recommended supplier in the USA?

Might there be a heavy duty version of a '46 Merc clutch disc which would be more desirable than the standard one?

Fort Wayne clutch in Fort Wayne Indiana is your best resource. It is a 9 or 10 inch I believe. You may have to pull it out first to confirm. Maybe someone has a better answer.

The flywheel for the 9 inch clutch is different to the one for the 10 inch clutch. You can look through the inspection plate and if your clutch is recessed into the flywheel, it would be a 9 inch clutch. If it is not recessed into the flywheel, you will have to pull it out to see which clutch is installed.

Ditto on Fort Wayne clutch. They sell the best at a reasonable price.
