The body ID plate (on the firewall) is missing on my 1937 Fordor Sedan DeLuxe I would like to have a reproduction made. Is there a Data base, or any other way to gather the correct information for the ID Plate for this particular car by way of a Vehicle Serial Number search.., or??? Your 1937 car will have a Body ID tag/plate only if it were manufactured by a Ford body sub-contractor like Murray, Briggs, etc. Complete automobile bodies manufactured by Ford at a Ford factory, like Dearborn for instance, will not have a body tag. This is the way I understand it. . . . 78-730B This message was edited by TonyM on 10-25-17 @ 1:14 PM

Here is a previous discussion of the topic. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=18&Topic=8284 I don't know of any way that you can retrieve the original body tag number, if your car was equipped with one, by trying to trace it through a Ford transmission/frame number. Again, your car may not have had a body tag to begin with. Good luck. TM . . . 78-730B This message was edited by TonyM on 10-25-17 @ 1:10 PM

Hello . Are there two holes where the tag should be? My tag was covered up by a voltage regulator. Car looks great. Good luck with the car. TonyM Here is a photo of my 1937 Ford De Luxe Fordor. . . . 78-730B This message was edited by TonyM on 10-25-17 @ 1:58 PM

All the firewalls had the holes whether there was a body number tag attached or not. The presence of the holes is not indicative of a missing tag.

I have to disagree with 3w2's comment about all firewalls having holes for body numbers regardless if they originally had a tag, or not. My '36 is a very late '36 that still has all of it's original black paint on the firewall/cowl, my car never had a body number, nor is there the "two holes" for same. My firewall/cowl has the patient plate, four holes, located on the right side of the firewall. Bill 36 5 win delx cpe
