Topic: 1950 Ford Tools

IanDaly    -- 10-23-2017 @ 4:23 PM
Hello, well I bought the 1949-50-51 Ford Book, A Restorers Guide, Second Addition, Hoping I would find out all about the tools that come with the car and all I get is a photo of the bag that the tools were put in. And I find that the tool bag wasn't supplied by Ford, it was a bag supplied by the dealers.
How am I to obtain photos and numbers of the tools ie Jack, hand spanners/wrenches pliers & etc Please. I need this so that I know what I am looking for at swap meets and collections.
Regards Ian Daly

Do you know if the Ford jack has Ford on it and does it have any Ford numbers?

Check with the club's tool advisor, Lyn Stacey: LinStacey@sbcglobal.net.

I'm with JT on this one. I have never seen or heard of tools coming with a 50 Ford other than the jack and lug wrench. Neither of which do I recommend using.

I'm no expert on the 49 and up cars, but all I've ever seen in the trunk was the jack and lug wrench( also doubles as the jack handle and hub cap pry tool)

Please see the attached photos of the tool kit from my unrestored 1949 Custom Sedan assembled in Antwerp from a USA supplied CKD Kit. As an export car the tool kit may be more comprehensive.
