Will all Part No 8115 radiator drain cocks fit my '39?
Part No.40-8115 is "correct" but unavailable.
Available parts include "B-8115" and "48-8115" as well as some generic "replacements". Are the differences mainly in appearance or do they function differently?

The 40-8115 directs the fluid straight down while the 48-8115 directs the fluid at a 90 degree angle.

Thank you. I think that is the answer I was looking for. I hate to lose authenticity, but the loss of fluid trumps that for the time being.

fordmerc: I have Part #40-8115 .... however the thumb-turn knob is stamped with a double "BB" as opposed to the single "B" shown in Don Roger's photo.

I also have another antique straight-through brass cock - unmarked.

I also have the 90 degree #48-8115 but the thumb turn knob is forged in the shape of a "B" as opposed to Don's photo.

Don't know about and can't confirm thread size .... they look like are all the same.

My Dad's old peanut butter jars of 1920-1930 parts yield wonderful things.

Willing to sell any of these at reasonable price plus shipping. Dad would be pleased to know they are being put to use.
