Topic: 37 splash pan mount location?

1937sedandelivery    -- 09-23-2017 @ 3:25 PM
  Hello,
I need help in determining:
Is this a 37 part?
Does this part (fender apron?) mount inside or outside of the grille/fender assembly? Please refer to pdf with yellow arrows.

The attached pics were taken from underneath the car looking forward at the inside face of the grille.

If this is the correct part, then there will be some pulling & tugging no matter if goes inside or outside, since neither seems to fit well at this stage. So goes the 37 front end assembly (:

Thanks for your help,
gregg

Yes --- fits behind the grille and the single (standard) or double (deluxe) horns opens match up with the two openings.

Also --- pdf is much better than a power point attachment

  Hi Nelsbo1,
My real question is if the piece is mounted on the inside perimeter of the grille/fender connection or on the outside perimeter. It is a little hard to describe. Please see my pdfs, and PM me or call me, I want to finish this off asap.
Thanks,
Gregg (520) 404-6829

I would really like to be able to completely answer your question ---but my 1937 (original) went down the road years ago, so I can not head to the garage and check.
Hopefully, a current 1937 owner can check and give you the answer.
If I had to take a guess, I would say that it went inside of the grille --

The horn/splash pan goes inside the grill (see photo).

It took some wrenching, but the apron went in inside the grille edges. See attached pdf.
Your help is very appreciated.
