I'm new here. Just picked up a very solid Club Coupe with three on the tree. Needs a clutch, 226 six, I have a ford o matic in my 54 Victory and it suits my needs very well. Question is would that conversation be the simplest way to go I'm only a back yard type mechanic. Also are the bell housings the same for the six as they are for the flat heads, just a thought for later. Thanks for listening. See ya Lou

I don't think you can mate a Ford-o-Matic to an early 6 cylinder. If it was me I would see if you could mate a later C-4 to the six. Check with Gene Benson at Flat-O-Products in Salem ,Oregon. He makes adapters for the C-4 to a flathead and may know if you can do it with a six. The website is; www.flat-o.com. The phone # is 503-364-2934
