Topic: rear shocks leak, stop leak?

flatfoot    -- 09-07-2017 @ 10:25 AM
Can I put stop leak in my rear shocks that have leaked for ever?

I assume you mean trans. stop leak or something similar. I doubt that this would be a permenant cure. Have them rebuilt.

I highly doubt it would even be a very temporary cure.

A better question might be "would it hurt to try it"? I think the answer to that question is no but I don't claim to be an expert (ask a rebuilder)? If it doesn't work you can always have them rebuilt.

I have never been a fan of temporary fixes. I wouldn't want to take a chance at gumming up a good set of shocks. Plus, I think the pressure might be too great. I would give Bill Wzorek a shout, www.wpwz@comcast and ask him. He is the shock rebuilder that advertises in the V-8 Times.

Bill is ill and has trained Andy Falandez and sold his shock repair business to him. He rebuilt mine and they work great!

Sorry to hear that Bill is not well. He did a set of shocks for me and couldn't be nicer! He is in my thoughts.
