I can't find if this has actually been ask before but, if it was please bear with me. On Pre-'40 Fords does the horn rod need to be lubricated prior to sliding it into the steering shaft? If so,with what that won't run down the rod into the wiring bulb? Thanks Tom

I have a '36 and never even thought to lube the rod. never been an issue for me.
