Topic: manual choke on 52 v8

When I recently instqlled the new carb, besides not getting fuel to the sediment bowl, I cant seem to connect the manual choke wire to the carb. It seems that the inner wire is too short to connect to the fitting. Is it possible to replace the existing wire with a longer one? Where would I get one?

This sounds a little strange. Can you post a picture of the carb and choke hookup? As for a replacement, check carpenter, Van Pelt or other supplier.

NO, you have to buy the entire assembly from Carpenter or any good parts source. About $20 plus shipping.

Their are more than 1 style of choke levers,i would have to see a good close up pic of the lever off the carb to see if I have another style in stock. Some allow for a longer or shorter cable. I'm talking about 1/4 to maybe 1/2" diff,no more. ken ct. How much short is the cable and are you using an original cable bracket, pic also. ken ct. 1-203-260-9780 cell.

  Hi Ken
Im using the original manual choke control. Its a good 1 inch shorter. I dont like this Dennis Carpenter carb. I tried using the original holly 2100 linkage but that made no difference. Because I have a Fordomatic, I had to use the original 2100 base so this carb is now a mixmatch. I put a call into you, when you have time. Thanks again! Ron

Solution to manual choke problem. Got a manual choke kit from Napa. Swapped the internal wire with the Napa wire. Had 5 feet to work with. Made the adjustment . Works fine! About $23 for the kit.
