I am replacing the front bushing on my 36 distributor. My rotor shaft is lightly scored,it appears no oil has been getting to bushing. the old bushing does not have an oil hole nor does the new one ether. Are these bushings porous to allow oil to soak trough? I have been keeping the oil cup full. Thank You!

Theirs a wick under the spring loaded cap for oil. Passage could be blocked with crud. Time to clean out is when the old bushing is removed. ken ct.

no hole in the bushing it is porous and it does not extend all the way to the front die cast body of the distributor.

The front bushing should be made from sintered brass. It is very porous and will allow just enough oil to reach the bearing surface to keep it lubricated.
