Does anybody know, because they have, or had a crestliner; or from their general knowledge,if the assist staps are covered in vinyl? The previous owner did mine in brown vinyl, which is the same color as the vinyl on the kick panels, and on the door panels. Regards, Steve Lee

I have a 1950 Crestliner that Maroon and black. My interior is original and the straps have a maroon center with black around the edge. My Crestliner has a Rouge and Dearborn from the National meet Kenneth M. Stewart

Here's a paraphrase of Cecil Goff's response in the V-8 Times, Nov/Dec, 2012: Color of material on assist straps on a Sportsman’s Green car? (inside material is black leatherette (vinyl), outside vinyl matches color of upholstery in car, binding is fabric, the same color as the outside vinyl.)

I have the 1949-50-51 Passenger manual. Thats a repair manual. I actually have (2) of them; (1) for the house, and (1) for the garage. I think your referrring to the restoration guide, and I have one, just can't locate it. Regards, Steve Lee

I found my Restoration Manual, and it says very little about Crestliner hand assist straps or the colors. Regards, Steve Lee
