I have a 36 Ford with a stock restored Trico vacuum-operated wiper motor. How do you keep the motor lubricated so it doesn't rust internally? What particular kind of lubricant is best?

Thanks!

Larry, It would be helpful if we knew who the rebuilder of your Trico was, as there are different methods and materials used by different rebuilders. In general, though, it wouldn't hurt the Trico or your engine to squirt a shot of motor oil into the unit. Of course, the best answer to your question should be available from the rebuilder himself.

The wiper motor stopped working on my 34 roadster about 20 years ago. Someone told me to squirt some WD40 into it and that's what I did. It started working and still is without any further maintenance.
