I am using a new Ujoint in a 40 frod. What is the proper grease to use. I have heard different kinds. Is there a proper grease?

Comments I found on the Ford Barn and here seem to highly suggest John Deer corn head grease and if you have it apart check out latest post on Ford Barn titled "How to lube clamsh*ll from the top"

I just called my local John Deere dealer. The salesman has a 41 Merc. So he is familiar to the grease and how it works.

The original Soda Soap grease is no longer made or available. Ford specifically pointed out not to use regular grease, since the rotating joint would throw off the grease and then become un-lubed. Many feel Corn Head grease is the answer. The corn head grease has to remain in contact with the rotating joint to turn to a liquid so you have to pack the entire joint clam sh*ll. If you want something that recombines and lubes, I use 0-0 grease. I put in what Ford suggest 4OZ through the speedometer turtle hole.
