I have a 36 with a stock 221 engine and I have a 37 late 221 engine with block mounted water pumps and center hose heads. Will the water pumps bolt to the earlier block? I would like to use the center hose heads on my 36 221. Any ideas? I had a lot more experience with the later engines and am still learning about the 221's. Dave C.

you can put the 36 heads on the 37 block providing they are the heads for the domed top pistons. Or use the 37 heads and lose the block off plates and use 37 W/P's motor mount setup. Its not going to look like a 36 motor in that configuration. ??? ken ct.

The '37 water pumps will not bolt onto the '36 block. The 37 heads will fit the '36 motor, but then you won't have any water pumps.
