Topic: '33 distributor

So, "hats off" to whoever, some years ago, suggested installing a couple of stud bolts to center the '33 distributor, was genius. It was so much easier than when I installed it years ago. It was time for the points to be cleaned and adjusted. I found one set had not been firing and the other was burned. I also, interestingly found the little drain hole on the bottom of the distributor to be plugged.

At any rate, thank you

Now can you give me an easy solution for a 6'3" old man with a bad back having to install it? And why did Henry insist on mounting it in the basement?

Have your son or grandson install it.

That is a great idea, though I fear my grandson would seek to install it with a hammer and I am not sure my kids know which way to turn the bolts.

My grandson would want to install it over the internet.

Seriously, asking your grandson to help you is a good way to get him interested in the hobby. It does take a lot of patience to watch them fumble, but that is part of the learning process. I learned more from my mistakes and my kids mistakes than from any other source.

My grandsons always talk about the fun they had riding in the car and helping Grandpa fix it. None of them have collector cars now, but they enjoy going to car shows on their own and with me when they are in town.
