How do I replace spark plug wires in a 34 ford? Do you have to remove the metal harnesses or can you thread the new wires through it?

The easiest way is to remove the distributor caps and the metal conduits and then replace the wires at your workbench.

String the longest wire first and then the next one until all 4 wires are in the conduit. Adjust the length of the wires as they come out of the conduit and then trim the wires at the cap. Strip the insulation from about 1/8" of the wire at the cap end and install the little brass contacts on the ends of the wires, with the bare wire coming through the contact middle opening. Solder the wires to the contacts and install them into the distributor caps.
