How to identify the Houdaille shocks? They seems not to have the marking as in the 1941-1948 bible (for ex. 11A-18045-A). What is the different between front shock-RH and front shock-LH? Is the left shock useable on the right side and vice versa?

Jehn, I've been watching over your post in hopes a '41 expert would weigh in. As none have to date, I will offer a little help. However, if concourse correct is your aim, I think it best you await an expert on '41 Fords to help you. You can't (for certain) mix right for left nor left for right. One issue, a "biggee", is the filler plug would end up on the bottom. I am quite (99.9%) certain that the shock bodies are 3 1/4" in diameter by 1941. As you at know, 1940 shocks were only 2 7/8" in diameter. There will for certain be six "lugs" on the packing nut. Now, the arms... I am not certain what numbers are correctly cast upon the arms. For certain the Ford script and some number. Which? Again, I do not know. Hopefully this moves you a bit in the correct direction. Mike Kubarth
