What color are the rivet heads at the hood pad?

I am at the same point on my 1936 pickup.
I am going to go with the color of the rivets in the hood bumper kit. I may touch them up with chassis black after I stamp them.

I'm hoping to restore to factory original.

Gentlemen, If I read my 28-36 chassis book correctly, the 34 hood pad rivets have part # 63538-S2 (raven finish) and the 36 truck hood pad rivets have part # 63326-S3 (japan black finish)

I also have seen two roadsters with the hood pad with rivet installed on the outside of the hood. You see the triangle black rubber on the outside when the hood is closed. Is this correct? seems odd. What is the correct way to install it?

Please look at the picture that Don posted again.
If the rubber is on the outside, that defeats their purpose of protecting the painted surface.
So, someone installed them backwards.

Totally agree, just two roadster I have looked at had the pads on the outside. They must not have had the good advice of The Early Ford V8 Club members. Thanks a million.

Gentlemen, The purpose of my photo was to show the black rivet holding the hood bumper in place on my 35 panel delivery. I did not intend to make a statement on whether the bumper was mounted on the inside or outside of the hood corner. I am not an authority on 33-34 vehicles and can not offer an opinion on correctness of hood bumper placement.

Here is a photo of a hood pad on the outside. I'm not sure what the purpose it serves on the out side. Any 34 owners input please.

  Don,

Intent or not, yours are in the same position that all of the '32-'36 corner bumpers should be even though their overall shapes and sizes are different year to year (except '33-'34 which are the same for both years). I guess those who install them backward believe the primary function of those bumpers is to protect the sides of the fenders and not the cowl.
