Ford planned for all models when they produced vehicles. Those with and without arm rests.
I would suggest that you remove the door panels, if you haven't already, and you should find holes for the attaching of the arm rests on the inside metal panel of the door.

They are there. There is a bracket that that goes there also at least on my 42. Might be hard to find the brackets.

I only have a rectangular hole (2x 5/8) no screw holes in front doors, any pictures of the bracket that might fit there. The rear arm rest can be located ok , there are metal loops welded on the side wall and I have a restorable pair of arm rest with the clips attached now.

The arm rest bracket(a piece of flat steel about 4" long with a hook shape on top) fits into a slot on the door. The bracket screws into two holes that are in the armrest. The bracket and armrest "sandwich" the door panel. If you have a Drake catalog you can see the bracket. Your door panel(if original) should have the pre-punched holes to locate the armrest.

Thank you all for your inputs, I think I can move forward with the restoration.
