Topic: Motor Mount cap

On a '39 that I had years ago, there were caps on the top of the motor mounts. They were like a tent that covered the top biscuit of the mount and were secured beneath the washer, castle nut and cotter pin. Anyone know if they were a genuine Ford part or were they an after market part and what was the purpose of this part?

  After market without question.

I've seen them before. They were part of a "dress up" kit to improve the looks of the engine compartment. The kit had several chrome items that were bolt on, such as coil cover, voltage regulator cover, generator cover etc.

Thanks guys. As Paul Harvey used to say; "Now here is a strange..."
A buddy of mine dropped by yesterday and gave me a pair of those caps.
Not chromed though. Now I have two pair of them... )
