Hello I am going to replace the rubber on my 1941 ford coupe sedan and would like some information on it. who has the best rubber Drake? and should there be paint under the rubber or just bare metal to glue to. and the bolts that hold it to the arms from the car do they go through the rubber or small headed bolt? under the rubber

thank you
Mike

I purchased them for my '41 Ford from C&G Early Ford Parts in Ca. I sand blasted the running boards and painted them using slightly less paint where the rubber is glued on. They have been on the car for 18 years now and still look great. Every Spring I use Back to Black on them to enhance the finish and water repellent.
I am not sure but I think the covers are all made by the same company. I could be wrong though.

IMHO the best covers for the running boards are the ones that Hunley Acuff vulcanizes on your boards. They look good for years and wear well.

Drake has the best DIY covers. Make sure that the metal is smooth under the cover as any imperfections will show through.
