Topic: Accelerator Pump

It is me again. 53 Ford Flathead Ford Carb, series 94. I was testing the accelerator pump circuit prior to assembling the carb. The check ball seems to be working correctly, and I get fuel coming out of the discharge nozzle well. I assembled the discharge nozzle, idle tubes, and main nozzles. I put some fuel in the accelerator pump well, and worked the pump up and down. I got some seepage out of the accel pump discharge nozzle, but not a solid squirt like I am used to. I have not really tested one like this before, but do you think this is normal, or should the fuel spray out? The carb is not fully assembled yet.

Yes it should come out in a fairly strong stream from the "Y" shaped squirter. Poke a thin wire through it and then blow it out good with compressor blow gun. Their are a type of style with the hole @ the very bottom of each leg, these are hard to poke a wire through the hole goes straight up. Others have holes at an angle on the bottom, these are much easier to get a wire through. I have a draw full of them I will trade you 1 for 1 if you want to plus shipping for a clean one w/canted holes. ken ct pm,email or cell 1-203-260-9780

Good job Tommy. Its the tiny holes that screw you up big time. ken ct.
