Topic: 52 Ford shock absorbers

Does anyone know the NAPA or Monroe number for front shock absorbers on a 1952 Ford ? I would like to install new ones on our Ranch Wagon.

Is there a better alternative brand ?

Who might the best automotive parts retailer be to deal with in the Detroit Michigan area ?

If there is a choice between heavy duty shock absorbers and a "softer" shock, do you agree that I should be purchasing the heavy duty ones ?

Would these be the same shock absorbers that are used on the 49/50/51 Ford passenger cars ?

Thanks.

The 52 shock is different from the 49-51.I have an old Napa book(10 yrs old) that shows the following part numbers for the 52-56 Ford passenger cars; fronts are LE10001. There are two numbers for the rear shocks 94049 and 20830. Hope these numbers are still good.

  Dont dis-miss Pep Boys.
They sell replacements all the way back to the first Ford tube shocks.

Front shock absorbers for our '52 wagon were located at the NAPA store in Port Huron, Michigan which is about 50 miles west of our location here in Ontario.

These are NAPA's number 94002, which fit 1952 to 1956 Ford and Meteor passenger cars.

Believe it or not, they had a pair in stock. I thought the price was very reasonable at $18.88 each.

Thanks again to everyone who assisted in the search.
