The radio in my 1940 will not play. It will only hum and the light inside works. Any recommendation for a repair shop would be appreciated. I only want to have it fixed for AM. Thanks

Good Morning, Robert--- I had my 40 radio restored by Bob's Radio and TV. They did a nice job. Their website/phone # - (805) 489-8200---www.bobsradio.com. Unfortunately, they are located in Southern California, so the shipping cost from Tennessee might be a problem for you. I would certainly consider taking the advice of my fellow member in Portland, Oregon. That may be the best way for you to go. Good Luck. Tom

There is an active Regional Group in Bristol and I would contact them to see if there is a repair service locally. The experience of local Club members is one of the advantages of belonging to a Regional Group. Tom

I had mine in our '47 convertible upgraded to AM-FM years ago. It looks exactly the same, except it is static free, and gets music instead of mouthy "shock jocks". I don't recall who did it, buy they usually advertise in the V8 TIMES.
