Are rebuild kits available for these?
What weight oil is correct for the shocks?

I am not sure where to get rebuilding kits but I believe they are available. Make sure you have the correct shocks before getting into a rebuild. Ford did publish rebuilding instructions in SOME service bulletins. There was a link to these on the www.fordbarn.com web site (do a search) or you could contact Andy Falandes 1-413-768-8487
andys.shoxs@gmail.com He is one rebuilder. Ford used three different oils to fill the shocks originally. The original type is determined by the shape of the filler plug head.

Successful rebuilding requires baking the shocks, then using a special wrench to get them apart. They used a glycerin liquid. There are rebuilders, such as Apple Hydraulics. If you are not purist, installing tubular shocks will greatly enhance both ride and safety.
