Topic: 36 Window Bug Codes

  Anybody know what the code letters on the 36 window bugs. The car has been shipped to the UK and i have the year and month but unsure what the letter codes mean... any website that lists the code meanings.

  Contact Third Gen Automotive, they sell the "Bug" kits and can give you the correct info, 615- 293 -9985.

  I believe those have to do with the style of glass. Such as strength and temper. Or maybe the manufacture.

  If I remember correctly there was an article in the V8 Times covering the glass bugs. You may want to search the on line index.

  In the book offered by the V-8 Club for '41 thru '48 Fords gives an explanation about "Glass Bugs". The "date code" are the letters to the left and right of the Ford Script. The letter to the left is the month, A= January, B= February etc. The letters to the right is the year. For example DF= 46. The "Bugs" for my '46 Ford are marked I-DF or September of '46. That being said the article also goes on to state that prior to January, 1941 the date logo was in numerals, so your car being a '36, should be in numerals, if I read the article correctly. Can anyone that has a '36 verify this?
