This was originally posted in the new 1940 Ford book forum by mistake. Am interested in any comments regarding metal toe pans vs. wood toe pans & any info on seals floor pans or boards should have. Thanks.

Can someone tell me if any, some, or most 1935 5 window coupes had both a metal floor pan & wood floorboard on the driver side? What can you tell me about the passenger side? Flat, cup, or no washers?

Have V-8 Club 35-36 Ford Book but not entirely clear to me. Thanks.

The early 35 had a metal toe board on the left and a wood toe board on the right. For most of the year the drivers side was wood. They are fastened to the floor and firewall with countersink head screws and washers to match.

Appreciate the info. My 35 coupe has metal toe board on left & wood toe board on right. Any particular advantage or preference for the wood toe board on left?

I think my floor pans are missing some seals that should be there & I'd like to get everything the way it should be or at least better if possible.

the early 35 did have the metal toe board on the drivers side and wood on the right side. Not sure when in 35 that Ford went to wood on the driver's side. The only seal I recall seeing on the floorboards in my 35 was some canvas type material stapled to the wood. I cannot verify if this was original or somebody's home fix.

Appreciate the responses. Also found that The Early Ford Store depicts four foam seals for 1935/1936 brake & clutch pedal arms & seals for the steering column tube & the starter push rod. The catalog description says the seals fit “underneath the metal tin that goes around the brake and clutch pedal arms, the steering column tube and the starter push rod” which is consistent with the Early Ford V-8 Club 1935-36 Ford Book.

The 1935/36 Ford Book also mentions an accelerator felt pad "which was stapled to the floorboard" although my 1935 has a metal floor plate.

Thanks.
