Topic: Couple of Steering questions

I have 2 Questions. Both have been discussed in the past but I can not find them. Question #1 - I put in my steering tube a steering column rubber bushing, it has a bronze incert. I have read that I may should have used some type of ball bearing type bushing. Does anyone have a part number an where I can get one? Question #2, There has been talk about motor honey/Stp. What is that? Is it a product thet STP makes, or a mixture of chassie lube and STP?

The bearing and sleeve can be purchased from C and G Parts or other V-8 parts vendors. It is a definite upgrade from the bushing. There is also a bearing unit that is sold on e-Bay that works well. It is more expensive than the one from C and G but is a nice unit. I have always used C and G's bearing as it is a direct copy of the one used in the later Ford columns.

The fellow that sells the steering column bearing on e-pay is our own EFV8 club member Dan Brusegard from Maple grove, MN. He has been making this steering column bearing of his own design for a number of years now. I've used two of them so far and they are of top quality and precision and is easy to install. The improvement in ease of steering is substantial. Dan can be reached at dancb(at)comcast.net [substitute (at) with @] for more details. Ken
