I just went all through this because my 46 never had a heater. Made my own template you gotta love those step drills. I do not have a plug or nipple on the water pump so I got one from napa to go on the lower radiator hose. I did have a shut off for the right head. All pictures on the net shows the heater slightly off center to the right. All left to do is get some napa defroster hose 1 3/4 I think. Oh this heater came from a mint 49 F8 fire truck 3 door with defrosters controls perfect condition. My car runs all year at around 179 degrees. Just for conversation I think its wimpy, meaning the core is hot but the delivery not too good for my ole bones. I grew up with 6vts and it seems cars threw more heat? example my youngest boy bought a 41 Chev for cheap and had under seat heater and within 20 min you would be toasty but no defrosters. ugg tempted to put 12vt batt in the trunk just for the heater. such is life i guess
