Hello, I have a 37 Ford Sedan Delivery almost ready for painting. Question: For originality, should the door latches and dovetails be installed on the doors prior to painting, and thus they will end up body color? or should they be installed afterwards. If this is the case, then what color should they be painted? Thanks, Gregg

The female dovetails and door latch mechanisms were originally installed before the body was painted. The male dovetails were plated and added after the body was painted.

Excellent, thanks for the quick and clear response. I will follow suit. One more question... Thus the screws that mount the latch to the door will end up body color?
