My 40 has replacement tube shocks. The setup is very good and I am sure it was a kit at one time. I have owned the car since 1959 and it is time to replace all 4 units. Does anyone know what shocks I need for both the front and rear? Don

Don, As there may have been different kits available when your shocks were installed, I think your best bet would be to determine overall dimension as compressed, and distance of travel, then compare to what is available today. I would suggest that doing your own homework in that way would be better than taking the advice of an Auto Supply Store Clerk. Alan

Some shocks came with a number stamped in them
