I found this coil in a box of car parts yesterday and not sure what it is from or fit. Is it worth anything? Can any of you use it? thanks,
Jerry

It looks like it would fit a 59AB [pre 1949] coil bracket.

It looks like one of the early electronic ignition systems from the late 1960s and early 1970's. They used the big power transistor to switch the coil on and off. The points controlled the power transistor. This kept the points from burning and pitting. The problem with the system was that the rubbing block on the points still wore and eventually changed the timing, so the car did not run right.
