Topic: Local V8's

I’m always happy when we get to go on a driving tour and there are other Early Ford V8’s. For years, we’ve done local tours and national tours where the Model A’s always outnumber the V8 cars. I wrote in the V8 Times that we, the V8’s, finally outnumbered the A’s on the 2016 AACA Sentimental Tour (For cars 1928-1958). Unusual, but good news to me, a 34 Ford guy.
Today we led a small local tour in the Smoky Mountains to see the end of the leaf season and get our cars out for another time before all the leaves were gone and winter weather begins. It was a short 30- mile ride on narrow, scenic back roads with only 15 cars, but the V8’s won the day with 3. A real interesting group with all 50-year-old or older vehicles. Our 1934 Ford Fordor, a 1924 Yellowstone Tour Bus by White, a 1925 Model T Coupe, a 1929 Chevrolet Sedan, a 1930 Model A Tudor, a 1930 Model A pickup, a 1932 Plymouth sedan, a 1935 Ford Fordor, a 1938 Ford Tudor, a 1952 M-37 Army Truck, a 1957 Thunderbird, a 1962 Chrysler 300, a 1963 Avanti, a 1964 Ford Ranchero and a 1966 VW Pickup. More V8’s than A’s made my day
