Topic: 12V overdrive question

  Gentlemen,
I have a '50 Ford Custom Fordor with a Flathead V8 and a standard 3 speed tranny with OD. If I chose to convert my Ford to a 12V system does that mean I must change out all the OD components to 12V; solenoid, relay, and kick down switch?

Also, if my Ford is stock do I have a Borg Warner R-10-R12 OD system?
Please advise.
John

Your kick down switch isn't voltage sensitive. The governor works on 6 or 12 volts. The relay will need to be changed to 12V. A lot of people report that the 6V solenoid has worked for a long time on 12V, others feel more comfortable changing it to 12V. Your call on the solenoid.
