Topic: Hood clip and windshield trim

I have a couple issues. I'm attaching two photos to show what I am looking for. One is the hood trim as you can see it looks like there should be a piece about 3/4" that covers up where the hood ornament base and the trim meets. I've looked on a few sights but I don't know what that is called. I am wondering since this is not the original ornament and base, as you can see the base is not flush either,Could it be that a new base would have the clip or would fit correctly. The previous owner added the greyhound ornanment.

Also when the car was restored with the woodgrain trim you can see the drip runs from the outside through the windshield. Is there a piece of rubber trim that goes on the backside of the trim piece that hides it or was it simply painted black. The windshield has the correct rubber gasket so I know if there is something it would be for cosmetic purposes.
Any comments and where to find the parts would be appreciated.
The photos are in the 2 addition posts following this one.
