Can anyone tell me how to remove the stainless steel trim on the side of '50 Ford Fordor? Thanks. Ron

Most trim pieces are connected at the ends by a clip with a nut on it. The remaining clips are a snap on type and are pry off type. Usually from the top side of the clip. After the trim is off you can remove the pry off type clips by rotating them 90 degrees. The mounting holes are oval shaped.

So just use a screwdriver to pry then off? On the strips on the rear fender I can't see any nuts on the ends, I think it's held on by the clips alone. Is that possible?

I just install all the trim on my 50 after painting, you will need the door panels off to unscrew the end clips. The rest of the clips are oval 1/4 turn, the chrome pops off from the bottom. The quarter panel trim has one clip that screws on, you'll find it at the back end located in the trunk. If I were you I would use the bolt on for all the doors, I did because they keep the trim much tighter. Greg

Thanks for correcting me on the trim popping off from the bottom side of the clips. Been a while since I did it and wasn't sure so took a guess. 50/50 chance and guessed wrong. LOL

There are nylon pry tools available and I would use one of those to reduce the chance of damaging the trim or the paint. Eastwood sells a set and you can find them in some auto supply stores. Tom
