Topic: 1952 F1 wheel width

  Hey Guys ! My 1952 F1 has 16 x 5.5 wheels on it .
I'm thinking that this size is probably what it came with originally . Yes ? No ? Thanks - Bernie

I believe that 600 x 16 was a standard size for tires. A 16 x 5.5 rim. In 1952 Ford was still good friends with Firestone, so that brand would be the most likely on the vehicle when assembled. Black walls of course.
James Wagner's Ford Trucks Since 1905 book does not mention tire size for any of the vehicles except the Courier wagon.

According to the 1948-1956 Chassis parts catalog for trucks, the 52 F1 came with 16x4.5" wheels and 600x16 tires with 6.50x 16 tires as an option.

The 16x5 wheels were optional on the 53 trucks and used the same tires.

There are no 16x5.5 wheels with 5 lugs listed from 1948-1956.

make sure you measure the inside between the bead locations to determine rim width
